The Futures Development Camp is the best 12 & 13 yr old hockey players in the New England District of USA Hockey. Players tryout in their home state for an opportunity to be selected to attend this highly competitive development camp. The training sessions are led by USA Hockey national office personnel.
This camp is the player’s first introduction to the USA Hockey National Development process, which begins at 14U. The Futures Development Camp consists of on and off ice training sessions, skill development, small area games, and full ice games.
Tryouts have been completed for the 2024 season and details about the event will be posted below with the most up to date information as it becomes available. We can't wait to see everyone in Portland!

Cost: $175 (campers are responsible for their own lodging/dining)

If you're interested in coaching, please contact your affiliate. They will need to approve any coaching assignments. At this point, we won't adjust rosters to accommodate a coach being on their player's team.
Note on Player Check-In this Friday (3/29):
For player check-in prior to your team's first event on Friday (3/29), please arrive no earlier than 60 minutes before your scheduled ice time. For your team's first event, Futures Camp staff will only allow player check-in within 60 minutes of their ice time. For example, if your ice time is at 8:00am this Friday, player check-in will begin at 7:00am. If your ice time is at 12:00pm this Friday, player check-in will begin at 11:00am. Players will only need to check-in prior to their first Futures Camp event. As a reminder, we ask that only players participate in the player check-in process.
As an additional note, we were just informed of a new parking policy at the University of Southern Maine (USM). The USM Athletic Department has provided the following guidelines while parking at USM during our event. The New England District of USA Hockey is not responsible for any parking fees which might be incurred during Futures Camp. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
Parking Update from the USM Athletic Department (only impacts parking at USM Ice Arena):
· There is a 30 minute grace period for dropping off/picking up. Even 1 minute beyond that will result in a $55 fine.
· The rate to park is $1/hr, plus a $0.55 service fee.
· To pay for parking, people can either download the Honk Mobile app, or simply scan a QR code in the parking lot or rink.
· The system is monitored by video cameras across campus, and tickets are sent automatically, so it is definitely not worth it to not pay and hope you don't get caught. You will get caught.
